Perinatal outcomes among women with physical disabilities vary depending on the type and severity of their disability; yet studies show that with appropriate care, improvement in outcomes can be achieved. Advanced practice nurses have an opportunity to facilitate positive change in the delivery of healthcare services for women with disabilities, particularly during the perinatal period.
