This session will describe the scope and breadth of opioid addiction challenges faced by Nurse Practitioners. The importance of prevention, treatment and recovery will be described including trends and progress related to screening, brief intervention and referral to treatment, the expanding use of Naloxone, and national opioid-related priorities. Resources and clinical practice tools to assist NPs in better treating women with an opioid disorder across the lifespan will be described.
