Patient Counseling: Dispelling myths and misconceptions, improving the patient-clinician dialogue, and helping patients select the most effective form of contraception

19th Annual NPWH Premier Women's Healthcare Conference

1.5 CE, 0.5 Rx (NCC Code 1)

This case-based education will provide practical tools to help clinicians counsel their patients regarding contraception and incorporate reproductive life planning into clinician/patient discussions. It will review common myths and misconceptions regarding various forms of contraception that may be held by patients and/or providers. The faculty will provide strategies to help clinicians overcome these barriers to effective contraceptive use. A key focus will be to better enable clinicians to help a woman select the contraceptive method that is most appropriate for her specific needs at the time of each office visit.
