Patrice C. Malena, MS, FNP-BC

Patrice Malena is the Women Veterans Program Manager for the Hampton Virginia Veterans Administration, focusing on ensuring women veterans receive excellent health care across all disciplines. She received her MS as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. Ms. Malena has extensive Women’s Health experience, including clinical research at the Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School and National Institutes of Health, and clinical practice in a variety of Women’s Health arenas. Her current clinical focus emphasizes bladder health for women. She is establishing a Continence Center of Excellence at the Hampton VA Medical Center. In addition to serving on the Board for NPWH, Ms. Malena is also on the Board of Directors for the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners.

Janie Daddario, MSN, WHNP-BC

Janie Daddario is a certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and an Associate Professor of Nursing at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. She has been the Director of the Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Program for the past 19 years. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she maintains an active clinical practice 3 days a week in a private GYN practice. Janie has authored and co-authored book chapters, manuals, and articles in refereed journals in the areas of high risk/critical care obstetrics and women’s health. She has been an invited speaker for women’s health issues at many national and regional conferences.
She also served as a member of the committee to develop Standards of Practice and Education for Women’s Health Nurse Practitioners through the NPWH and the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses. Janie is treasurer of NPWH and currently serves on the Board of Directors Executive Committee.

Versie Johnson-Mallard, PhD, MSN, ARNP

Dr. Johnson-Mallard is a board certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, a member of the research faculty in the College of Nursing at the University of South Florida, and a Robert Wood Johnson Nurse Faculty Scholar. Dr. Johnson-Mallard is a past K-30 fellow in the College of Medicine, with a focus in translational research. Her research and publications are in the area of women’s health, reproductive health promotion, sexually transmitted infection prevention education, and behavior change in response to culturally appropriate nursing interventions. Dr. Mallard earned her BSN from Florida A&M University, MSN from University of Florida, and her PhD from the University of South Florida.
Johnson-Mallard is an active board member of Town and Country Hospital, NPWH, and the Polk County Advance Practice Council, as well as an advisor for the Pregnancy Help and Information Center in Tallahassee. Dr. Johnson-Mallard maintains a membership with the international honor society, Sigma Theta Tau, and Florida A & M University Honor Society. She provides consultation to partners who share interest in the development of STI/HPV educational material, clinical guidelines, and policy.

Susan Kendig, JD, MSN, WHNP-BC, FAANP

Susan Kendig serves as chair of the NPWH Policy Committee. She is a clinical assistant professor at Barnes College of Nursing and Health Studies at the University of Missouri–St. Louis. In addition to teaching the women’s health curriculum, Sue also coordinates and provides clinical services in several funded initiatives to develop and enhance services to women, specifically, pregnant and parenting teens, women with disabilities, and women who are chemically dependent. She also maintains an independent clinical practice focusing on women’s wellness and emotional health. Her consulting practice includes development of women’s health initiatives and working with managed care organizations, health systems and policy makers to increase women’s access to advanced practice nurses. She has published and presented widely in the area of women’s health and NP practice issues. Ms. Kendig also holds a law degree from the University of Missouri–Columbia.

Beth Kelsey, EdD, WHNP-BC

Beth Kelsey has taught at Ball State University School of Nursing for the past 15 years. During this time, she has provided leadership in the development, teaching, and ongoing evaluation of several courses delivered via distance learning for the Master’s Adult and Family NP track as well as the DNP Program. She was the initial interim director for the DNP Program during development and the first year of implementation, and has recently been appointed as the director of the program. Ms. Kelsey teaches Primary Care of Women for nurse practitioner students as well as Leadership and Health Policy, Population Focused Health Care, and DNP Project I for DNP students. She is a faculty advisor for several DNP students on their Capstone Projects. Although she is not currently in clinical practice, for more than 30 years she has been a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, providing reproductive health care for women in Planned Parenthood clinics, Title X funded clinics and county health departments.
NORTH ATLANTIC REGION

Jamille Nagtalon-Ramos, MSN, WHNP-BC

Jamille received her Bachelors of Nursing degree from Rutgers College of Nursing and her master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She was instrumental in creating the Women’s Health NP Hospitalist position in the Department of OB/GYN at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania 9 years ago, a position she still currently holds. She is also a member of the faculty and serves as the Associate Program Director for the Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner Program at the University of Pennsylvania. Jamille is on the Board of Directors for NPWH and serves as the Membership Chair and Co-Chair of the 2012 NPWH conference.
SOUTHEAST REGION
Carola Bruflat, MSN, RNC, WHNP-BC, FNP-BC
Vienna, VA
Carola Bruflat is a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, practicing in Northern Virginia in an all-female provider OB/GYN practice. She is also certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and is active in several advanced practice nursing organizations, regionally and nationally. Carola currently sits on the Advisory Committee for the Joint Boards of Medicine and Nursing in Virginia, and the Advisory Committee (NP representative) for the VA Prescription Monitoring Program. She has been a member of the NPWH Public Policy Committee since 2012. Her policy interests regarding our WHNP practice include the shrinking role of the WHNP; implementation of both the IOM Report recommendations and the Consensus Model; removing barriers to practice for all NPs; and healthcare reform.

Aimee Chism Holland, DNP, WHNP-BC, FNP-C, RD
Birmingham, AL
Aimee Chism Holland is a dual certified women’s health nurse practitioner and family nurse practitioner. She is an instructor of nursing and the coordinator of the dual adult-gerontology primary care and women’s health nurse practitioner specialty track at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she maintains a faculty practice focusing on women’s health at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Student Health Services Clinic in the Department of Family Medicine.
Currently she is serving on the education and research committees for NPWH. She has presented and published on both obstetrics and gynecology topics. Her scholarship and research interests focus on cervical cancer prevention, gestational diabetes, fertility and pregnancy in breast cancer survivors, and women’s health clinical simulations.

Brooke M. Faught, MSN, WHNP-BC
Brentwood, TN
Brooke Faught currently serves as the Clinical Director of the Women’s Institute for Sexual Health, a division of Urology Associates in Nashville, TN. Brooke completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at the Ohio State University and received her Master of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania where she received an academic traineeship to complete the Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner program and was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
Brooke studied with Dr. Susan Kellogg-Spadt, one of the leading sexual health experts in the country. She also spent time in Norway studying the women’s health system and European attitudes towards sexual health issues. Additionally, Brooke has trained in colposcopy with a specialization in vulvar colposcopy. She recently received the William Oxley Thompson Award for early career achievement through the Ohio State University and the Recent Alumni Award for Clinical Excellence through the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing.
SOUTH CENTRAL REGION

Susan Hoffstetter, PhD, WHNP-BC, FAANP
Manchester, MO
Susan Hoffstetter has been a member of the NPWH Board of Directors for the past 3 years. During this time, she has served as Nominations Chair, a member of the Policy Committee and a member of the ad hoc Bylaws committee. Dr. Hoffstetter's clinical practice has specialized in vulvovaginal disease and urogynecology for the past 15 years. In addition to running her own clinical prctice, Dr. Hoffstetter instructs and supervises resident physicians, medical students and has served as a preceptor for nurse practitioner students.
Her clinical research interests in vulvovaginal disease have resulted in numerous publications, awards and grants. Dr. Hoffstetter also has been involved in numerous clinical trials throughout her career and has lectured extensively on topics affecting women’s health including vaginal & vulvar disease, menopause, urinary incontinence, osteoporosis, hormone therapy and domestic violence. Dr. Hoffstetter is a recipient of the STAR Award for work in domestic violence education. In 2007, she was elected Fellow in the International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease, and in 2010, she was inducted as a Fellow in the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Jacki S. Witt, JD, MSN, WHNP-BC
Gladstone, MO
Ms. Witt is the Project Director for the Title X Clinical Training Center for Family Planning at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She is also the Clinical Associate Professor in the School of Nursing at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Jacki directs the Training Center, teaches at all levels of nursing education and practices as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner in urban core and suburban reproductive health care centers in Kansas City, MO.
GREAT LAKES REGION

Beth Kelsey, EdD, WHNP-BC

Debra Ilchak, DNP, RN, FNP-BC, CNE
Chandler, AZ
Dr. Debra Ilchak is a Certified Nurse Educator and a Clinical Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing and Health Innovation at Arizona State University. She earned both a BSN and Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Arizona State University, and an MSN from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Ilchak maintains her clinical practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Planned Parenthood Arizona and CARE Partnership. Her research and scholarship interests focus on sexually transmitted infections, family planning, and reproductive health.
